Alison Rrokaj

Alison Rrokaj paints in two beautifully decorative styles... her colourful watercolour florals celebrate the joy of Spring and Summer and her intricate folk art-inspired compositions depict a tapestry-like scene with pretty detailing and interesting palettes. She works as an artist and illustrator from her studio in Leicestershire, where she enjoys time in her garden and out in the countryside with her sketchbook.
“My inspiration comes from a love of painting flowers and all things decorative. I use a combination of acrylic and gouache in both the styles, but in two very different techniques: one washy, the other more intricately painted. Being a greetings card illustrator, I work in so many styles and techniques, which I have learnt over the years working in-house. However, now I work as a freelance designer (also under the name Ally Marie for my illustration work), I can be even more experimental with my art and find my own styles. These two ways of painting come quite naturally to me and I enjoy seeking out new colour combinations and subject matters.”
